We're building the bridge between untapped talent and transformative opportunities in tech.
VenturEd exists to democratize access to meaningful opportunities in technology. We believe that talent is distributed everywhere, but opportunity is not. Our fellowship program connects traditionally underrepresented high school students with real roles at innovative startups.
We started VenturEd after recognizing a fundamental problem in tech: the vast majority of people building our digital future come from an incredibly narrow slice of society. They went to the same schools, grew up in the same neighborhoods, and thus share remarkably similar backgrounds and perspectives.
This homogeneity is at its core an innovation crisis. When everyone thinks the same way, we miss breakthrough ideas and end up building products that help only a fraction of the world. The most transformative companies come about when diverse minds tackle problems from fresh angles.
Our thesis is straightforward: by finding exceptional young talent from overlooked backgrounds and connecting them with meaningful opportunities early, we can reshape who builds technology. These students bring unique perspectives, untapped creativity, and the hunger to prove themselves—exactly what the industry needs.
We're changing the DNA of the tech industry itself, one exceptional fellow at a time.
We look at context, not credentials. What matters to us is where you've been, what you've lived, and what shaped you. That could mean being first-gen, coming from a small town, growing up in a multifaith home, or being the only one like you in the room. Those stories matter. That's what makes a cohort strong.
We try to make each cohort 10 times better than the last. That only happens if we ask for feedback often and take it seriously. Fellows shape the program. Startups help us evolve it. We listen, we fix, we improve.
We don't run things just to fill a schedule. If it doesn't help the fellow or the startup, we cut it. Fellows do real work. Startups get real output. Every speaker, every session, every tool should make the experience stronger.
A remote, cohort-based internship program for high school students. We match accepted fellows — especially those from overlooked backgrounds — to vetted startups doing meaningful work.
High school students (ages 14-18) from anywhere in the world. We especially encourage applications from students who are underrepresented in tech or don't have traditional connections to the industry.
Not necessarily. We look for curiosity, drive, and evidence that you can learn quickly. Whether you've built apps, started clubs, or just have great ideas, we want to hear from you.
Everything from product and growth to research, design, operations, and engineering. We match you based on your interests, skills, and what our partner companies need.
6–8 weeks, completely remote, and about 10–12 hours per week. You'll have plenty of time to do this alongside school or other commitments.
You'll rank your top choices after learning about available opportunities. We match you based on your interests, skills, and company needs. Everyone gets a role with real responsibility.
While compensation varies by company, many of our partners provide stipends or other forms of compensation. More importantly, you'll gain invaluable experience and connections.
You'll get a dedicated mentor, access to our speaker series, networking opportunities, resume help, letters of recommendation, and ongoing career guidance.
You join our alumni network, receive ongoing mentorship, get help with college applications or job searches, and can return as a mentor for future fellows.
If you get in, you really, really deserve to be here. The program is very competitive, but the exact acceptance rate isn't what matters—we look beyond grades and test scores to find passion, creativity, and potential.
Applications will always be open! Please be patient as we review applications as they come in -- we will notify you ~1 month before the start of the Fellowship if you are selected.
We focus on real impact over busywork, prioritize underrepresented talent, and provide ongoing support. Plus, we're run by students who understand what you're going through.
Absolutely! Since our program is remote, we welcome applications from students anywhere in the world. We're building a truly global community of young builders.
We provide feedback to all applicants and encourage you to apply again. We also offer prep programs and resources to help you strengthen your application for next time.
We carefully screen all partners to ensure they're legitimate, well-funded, and committed to providing meaningful experiences. We only work with companies that share our values.
We're students, startup builders, and young professionals who built the program we wished existed when we were starting out. We understand the challenges because we've lived them.
